My Blog

Starting off on the Left Foot [Wednesday, January 12, 2005]

When I was creating my schedule, my Electrical Engineering class had a note by it that said "The lab of ECE 53A does not meet the first two weeks." Somehow, I saw "ECE 53A does not meet the first two weeks", so I thought "sweet! more free time the first two weeks." But then when I told people that one of my classes didn't meet the first two weeks, their reactions made me begin to doubt what I had previously considered factual. Turns out they were right and I'm on schedule to attend my first ECE class on its fourth meeting.

I guess you could say that this is a bad way to start of the quarter.

Mein Comp [Saturday, January 08, 2005]

Already I've spent way more than I intended to, but I'm in the process of "upgrading" my computer (really just making a new system, but with a KVM switch). I'm counting on some rebates to come through and already I've bought parts that might not be useable. But, at the moment, here's what it is:

Processor: 3500+ Athlon 64 Socket 939
Motherboard: Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe (nForce4)
Video Card: GeForce 6600 GT PCIe
Memory: 1 GB (2x512 MB) Mushkin PC3200 DDR
Hard Drive: Hitachi Deskstar 250GB SATA
Power Supply: Vantec ION-2 350W
Case: Antec SLK1650B (Mid Tower)
Some DVD Drive - maybe just steal it from my old system

so yeah; if you see any problems (like someone told me my Power Supply might not be enough), let me know!

Too Soon [Monday, January 03, 2005]

Back to school, back to school, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool.

To everyone who asked or will ask: Break was great, but it was wayyy to short!

I barely had time for anything - definitely didn't have enough time to spend with everyone I wanted. (Even though I spent like half the nights with La Fraternidad, still wasn't enough.) But that's the way it goes, and so I enter the Winter quarter unprepared, angry (that I have to take ECE 53), but very cautious. I remember last winter quarter, I came in kinda skating by with my relationship with God and then before I knew it I was wondering where I was. Like Amos 6:1a says,
Woe to those who are at ease in Zion
And to those who feel secure in the mountain of Samaria

Don't want that happening again!
