Throwing Up Good Cheer [Saturday, December 25, 2004]

Sick PicHere I am, on Christmas morning after a night of no sleep and about 3 episodes of semi-violent vomiting. Don't pity me; it was kinda funny and it seems to happen every year to at least one person in our immediate family.

Then, I almost kept my mom's cider down, but I'm an idiot and dehydrated myself by taking a looong bath, then stood up to take a shower only to almost faint and eventually to find myself right back where I was last night - hovering over the toilet watching things I ate fly by my nose en route to a watery repository.

Carving is magic! [Thursday, December 16, 2004]

I went snowboarding again - just as it begins to be an annual thing, I have to go and be a senior so I can't come back next year. But this year, after much pain and tasty snow, I think I have the whole "carving" aspect down. And I hear it's all a breeze after that.

Anyway, after that sleepless night which I blogged last about, I went to the CCM christmas party. In the gift exchange, I stole something (I think) and then got whatever it was stolen from me and ended up with a SWEET (Napoleon Dynamite style) Happy (from Snow White & the 7 Dwarves) doll. After that, I went to spend the night at Randy's place and everyone freaked out about my PJs.

Our caravan of a 350 cars left early the next morning and then, after a few fruitless hours trying to sleep, somebody made a wrong turn somewhere and split up. Well, we got that worked out and finally arrived to Mammoth as one glorious group of Korean kids (with a few odd non-Korean ones) and then swung by the rental place to get our gear. The next few days were a blur of little sleep, some snowboarding (only one day), and lotsa chilling and games. I got to watch guys play Smash Brothers and wonder just how bad I'd be pounded if I picked up a controller, so I decided against it. I kept a pretty low profile as mafia in a Mafia game where we accidentally voted out one of our own in the first round. I got to wear my sandals or keep my feet bare everywhere. I got to participate in a debate about Resident Evil vs. Star Wars. Sounds like a great trip, doesn't it? You wish you were there!

Then, we came back; less eventfully than we came, since we all knew where we were going (mostly). Our car led the way back to Diamond Bar and on the way, we had the privilege to make cheeky remarks about JenShin's town. Again, wonderful experiences you all wish you had.

Now, I'm back in plain ol' Vista with little soreness and lotsa memories.

I hate caffeine [Sunday, December 12, 2004]

I used to be able to drink a Coke slurpee and then go to bed right away. The only time caffeine affected me was when I would drink an entire 2-liter of Coke, and even then, it was probably the sugar that affected me more.

But, for the second time in 3 days, I am still awake at 8 in the morning after getting in bed around 2. Both nights I drank a sugary, caffeinated beverage over 2 hours before I laid down to sleep, figuring that I would be fine; obviously, I'm retarded.

Thursday night [Friday morning] (the first caffeine-charged night), I ended up sleeping around 8am and woke up around noon so I could get down to La Jolla and take my last final. Last night (Saturday/Sunday), I had to get up at 8 anyway, so I made the determination to forgo sleep at around 7. Unfortunately, I have about 2 and 1/2 hours of driving ahead of me (1/2 hour down to church, 1/2 hour back, and then an hour and a half to get to the CCM Christmas party) and I still have to pack (for the CCM snowboard trip).

Once again, I hate (my succeptibility to) caffeine.

Coding-free for a month! [Wednesday, December 01, 2004]

I finished my last programming assignment for this quarter and my research prof gave us the break off, so I'm way stoked! I don't have to write a single piece of C or C++ or Java or anything for over a month (though I probably will)! Now I'll have time to do all the stuff I never had time for (mainly level up in City of Heroes).

Ok, who am I kidding? I was never busy in the 1st place.
