Carving is magic! [Thursday, December 16, 2004]
I went snowboarding again - just as it begins to be an annual thing, I have to go and be a senior so I can't come back next year. But this year, after much pain and tasty snow, I think I have the whole "carving" aspect down. And I hear it's all a breeze after that.
Anyway, after that sleepless night which I blogged last about, I went to the CCM christmas party. In the gift exchange, I stole something (I think) and then got whatever it was stolen from me and ended up with a SWEET (Napoleon Dynamite style) Happy (from Snow White & the 7 Dwarves) doll. After that, I went to spend the night at Randy's place and everyone freaked out about my PJs.
Our caravan of a 350 cars left early the next morning and then, after a few fruitless hours trying to sleep, somebody made a wrong turn somewhere and split up. Well, we got that worked out and finally arrived to Mammoth as one glorious group of Korean kids (with a few odd non-Korean ones) and then swung by the rental place to get our gear. The next few days were a blur of little sleep, some snowboarding (only one day), and lotsa chilling and games. I got to watch guys play Smash Brothers and wonder just how bad I'd be pounded if I picked up a controller, so I decided against it. I kept a pretty low profile as mafia in a Mafia game where we accidentally voted out one of our own in the first round. I got to wear my sandals or keep my feet bare everywhere. I got to participate in a debate about Resident Evil vs. Star Wars. Sounds like a great trip, doesn't it? You wish you were there!
Then, we came back; less eventfully than we came, since we all knew where we were going (mostly). Our car led the way back to Diamond Bar and on the way, we had the privilege to make cheeky remarks about JenShin's town. Again, wonderful experiences you all wish you had.
Now, I'm back in plain ol' Vista with little soreness and lotsa memories.
